Ronald Gene Davis GOREVILLE- 8220;Ronald Gene Davis, 69, of Goreville passed away at 6:07 P.M., Monday, April 7, 2008 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Graveside services will be at 2:30 PM, Friday, April 11, 2008 at the Busby Cemetery in Goreville with Dr. Ron Ferguson officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, April 10, 2008 at the Blue Funeral Home in Goreville. Memorials may be made to the Spina Bifida Association; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Gene was born on March 3, 1939 in to George and Bertha (Davis) Davis. He married Bonnie Cagle on January 9, 1961 in Marion; together they shared 47 years of marriage. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie of Goreville; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Kelly Davis of Goreville; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and John McNeal of DuQuoin; grandchildren, Camille and Ian Davis; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Lois Davis, Deon and Judy Davis and Frank and Nancy Davis all of Creal Springs and Cecil and Joann Davis of Marion; and sister and brother-in-law, Loretta and Ed Jackson of Marion. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and his grandparents. Gene was a 45 year member of the Carpenters Union. He loved working in his yard, traveling and camping.
