Ron Hollowell MARION-Ron Hollowell, 72, of Marion passed away at 1:30 AM, Saturday, September 27, 2008 at the South Baldwin Hospital in Foley, Alabama. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 3, 2008 at the Jackley-Landrum Funeral Home, 1629 Main Street, Elwood, Indiana. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Military rites will be held at Blue Funeral Home, Wednesday at 4:30 PM, with VFW Post 1301, American Legion Post 147 and the National Guard conducting the services. Burial will be at Cook Cemetery in Elwood, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the Marion Lions Club, Marion Carnegie Library or Aldersgate United Methodist Church building fund; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mr. Hollowell was born April 27, 1936 in Elwood, Indiana to Merl and Laura Mae (Powers) Hollowell. He married Eva “Eve” Crull on June 23, 1957 in Elwood, Indiana; together they shared 51 years of marriage. Survivors include his wife, Eve Hollowell of Marion; daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and John Hecht of Ventura, California and Annette and Shane Neicamp of Hampton Cove, Alabama; grandchildren, Alexandra Hecht, Katherine Hecht, Allie Neicamp, Sydney Lauren-Kate Neicamp; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Mike Chastain of Avon, Indiana; uncle, Emmett Powers; aunt, Audrey Hitchens; and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Shane Austin Neicamp; brothers, Larry and Steve Hollowell; and sister, Nancy King. Mr. Hollowell attended Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Marion. He formerly worked as an assistant manager at Wolohan Lumber Company and later worked and retired from Lowes. He served his country with the United States Army. He was and active member of the Marion Lions Club and a member of the Marion American Legion Post 147. He was an avid reader and book collector.
