Marion- Roger Ferguson, 70, of Spillertown, passed away at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
Roger was born on November 20, 1942 in Spillertown to Jewell M. and Mabel (Klope) Ferguson. He served his country honorably while enlisted in the United States Army. Once honorably discharged, he worked for many years as the machine set-up man at Flexonics in Bartlett, IL.
He was Baptist. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing at Crab Orchard Lake and drinking coffee with his buddies. He was a Chicago Cubs fan who enjoyed playing softball when he was able. He was a member of the Blue Heron Marina at Crab Orchard Lake and a former member of the Elks. He will be dearly missed by those that knew and loved him.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Rev. Kenny Blumenstock and Monsignor Ken Schaefer will officiate. Burial will follow at Oddfellows Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service, Wednesday at the funeral home.

Sister- Iretta Stephens and husband Howard of Marion
Sister- Nathalie Linder and husband James of Spillertown
Brother- Darryl Ferguson and wife Debbie of Herrin
Many nieces and nephews, great- nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews
Fishing buddies- Jerry and Lindell Ferguson
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother- Thomas Gordon Ferguson and two nieces.
