Roberta Jean Rix

Roberta J. Rix MARION-Roberta J. Rix, 76, of Marion passed away at 10:30 PM, Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Spring Branch Transitional Care in Houston, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the service on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Memorials may be made to the National Alzheimer’s Association; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mrs. Rix was born June 11, 1931 in Morley, Missouri to William Russell and Kitty (Cummins) Allen. She married Clifford D. Rix on September 28, 1947 in Marion; he preceded her in death on July 10, 2004. She was the cherished wife of Clifford and loving mother of five children, Michael and Julie Rix, Deborah Forster, Rhoda and David Powers, Lunda and Jeff Pritchett, all from Houston, TX, and Dana and Mike Crouse of Carbondale, IL. The grandmother to Darin and Sherry Watson, Gretchen and Ryan Rogers, Nathan and Leslie Forster, Erika Rix, Kristin Forster, Michelle Rix, Hillary Burke, Amanda Rix, Max Crouse, Michael Ryan Crouse, Tyler Pritchett, Lindsey Pritchett and great grandmother to Reagan Watson, Noah Watson, Gabriella Almanza, Hailey Rix, Ean Almanza and Gavin Castillo. She is also survived by one brother,John Lehman Allen; brother-in-law, Jay Rix of Marion; sisters-in-law, Earline Chamness of Marion, Charolette Russell and husband Leonard of Marion, Elaine Cawvey of Collinsville, and Clarice Allen of Franklin, Tennessee; nephew, Bill Allen and his wife Valerie of Franklin, Tennessee, and several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers, William and Donald Allen. The precious and timeless memories of our wonderful mother will remain in our hearts forever, her loving children Michael, Deborah, Rhoda, Lunda and Dana.
