Vienna-Robert D. Pearce, 83, passed away at 11:53am on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Hillview Health Care in Vienna. Robert was born on January 20, 1930 in Anna to Alvin and Belle (Gurley) Pearce. He married Mary Stewart on September 29, 1949 in Johnson County. She preceded him in death on April 6, 2013. Robert attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church and New Burnside Church. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be missed by all. Survivors include his children, Sandra and Michael Gamble of Marion, Terry D. and Judy Pearce of Creal Springs and Gayla and Fred Hudson of Vienna; grandchildren, Trisha and Fred Meyer, Chad Hudson, Rachel and Kevin Sieveking, Stacey Pearce, Brad and Shermalee Gamble, David and Jodi Gamble and Scott and Shari Gamble; great-grandchildren, Kelton and Amber Akers, Lecsee, Venesa, Brilyn, Anthony, Brandon, Briana, Jacob, Morgan, Landon, Derek and Alexis; and great-great-grandchildren, Alycia and Keegan; two sisters, Wanda Bradley and Violet Billingsley and three brothers, Calvin LeRoy Pearce, Larry Pearce and Jerry Pearce. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Gene Pearce and sisters Tressie Columbo and Geneva King. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at 2pm at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville with Rev. Tim Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Buncombe. Visitation will also be on Sunday from 12pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to the Hillview Nursing Home “Van Fund” and will be accepted at Blue Funeral Home/ PO Box 411/ Marion, IL 62959.
