Robert L. “Bob” Keller MARION-Robert L. “Bob” Keller, 81 of Marion passed away at 7:08 PM, Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Scott Kallem officiating with eulogies by Ray Hancock and Ken Sims. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at the funeral home. There will be a private burial service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or American Cancer Society; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Bob was born on April 23, 1928 in Marion to Allie and Jennie America (Lyerla) Keller. He married his sweetheart, Colleen Moore on October 25, 1947; together they shared almost 62 years of marriage. Survivors include his wife, Colleen of Marion; sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Jack and Sue Keller and Jerry and Jamie Keller all of Marion; daughter and son-in-law, Tammie and Logan Anderson of St. Augustine, Florida; grandchildren, Mindy and Billy Campbell, Adam Keller, Collette Anderson and Ethan Anderson; great grandson, Israel David Campbell; and sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Frank Sniderwin. He was preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers and sisters, Delmar Keller, Elizabeth Cooksey, Janieve Queen, Virgil Keller, Mitchell Keller and three infant sisters. Bob was a retired sheet metal worker of Local #268 and owned and operated Keller Heating and Cooling. He began his career working in a Southern Illinois coal mine with his father-in-law, Charles Moore. He was a member of Marion Third Baptist Church where he was a servant of his Lord Jesus Christ. He was a member of the Ainad Shrine Center of East St. Louis and a 32nd degree mason of the Scottish rite. He served as past president of the Lincoln Landers Motor Home Association and was a charter member of the Family Motor Coach Association. Bob’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, traveling the country with his wife and friends and driving the school bus for the Marion sports teams. He spent many fun days at his cabin on Benton Lake, boating and relaxing with friends and family. Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. His attitude in life exemplified patience and joy. “You will live in joy and peace. The mountains and hills will burst into song and the trees of the field will clap their hands.” Isaiah 55:12
