MARION-Robert L. Clark, 86, of Marion, passed away at 8:25 PM, Thursday, May 27, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Dr. Bob Wagner officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Robert was born October 12, 1923 in Marion to Jewell and Verna (Sutton) Clark. He married Herma Rasberry; together they shared 64 years of marriage.
Survivors include his wife, Herma Clark of Marion; daughter and son-in-law, Bari Lynn and Jim Nolen of West Frankfort; grandson and wife, Brent and Robin Pritchett; great grandson, Matthew Robert Pritchett; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Helen Clark; and sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Harold Bell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack Clark; infant brother, Ray J. Clark; and sister, Louise Clark.
Robert was a lifetime member and faithful volunteer at Second Baptist Church in Marion. His church was a very important part of his life. He formerly owned and operated Crispin Glass and Automotive Supply in Carbondale. He served his country with the United States Navy during World War II. He enjoyed baseball, especially his Chicago Cubs.
