GOREVILLE - Robert Cooper, 82, passed away peacefully at 5:58 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013, at home with family by his side.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, April 1, at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville, with Dr. Ron Ferguson officiating. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Sesser. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Robert was born in Chicago Heights on June 18, 1930, to Frank and Ebba (Anderson) Cooper. He married Juanita Harland who preceded him in death on April 24, 2009.
He is survived by his children, Robert and Mele' Cooper, Jr. of Park Forest, Mike and Susan Rossi of Goreville and Jean Doss of California; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nine great great-grandchildren; and sister, Nancy Trosen of Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Lorraine Phillips; and grandson, Randy Rossi.
Robert served his nation during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed woodworking. Robert was known to be a man of simple needs, taking pleasure in a good glass of bourbon.
