Robert Boyd “Bob” Sandusky HERRIN – Robert Boyd “Bob” Sandusky, 76, of Herrin passed away at 8:28 PM on Friday, January 7, 2011, at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Don Colson officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 11, 2011 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Vienna Fraternal Cemetery in Vienna, IL. Memorials may be made to the Family; envelopes are available during the services or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL, 62959. Bob was born on August 28, 1934 in Olive Hill, Tennessee to Alfred & Lillian Dean Sandusky. He married Phyllis Burklow on September 1, 1959 in Marion: they shared 51 years together. She survives of Herrin. He is survived by his wife; children, Wanda Shelton of Marion, Gary Sandusky of Herrin, Linda Kay Sandusky of Herrin, Kendra & Eddie Jr. Nicholson of Marion, Robert Boyd Sandusky Jr. of Herrin, David Nathaniel Sandusky of Johnston City, and Tina Lynn Sandusky of Herrin; grandchildren, John Shelton, Amber Rector & Shane, Shane & Rebecca Sandusky, Samantha & Justin Peppers, and Eddie Nicholson III; six great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Palmer of California; brother, James Sandusky of Bloomington, IL; several nieces and nephews . He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Billy Ray Sandusky; sister, Evelyn Thompson. Bob worked for Norge for 19 ½ years, he loved reading his bible and testifying about the Lord.
