Creal Springs- Robert (Bob) Lee Bradley, departed this life peacefully on February 28, 2015 at 3:10 a.m. He was 73 years, 6 months, 14 days old. Bob was born August 14, 1941 in Johnson County, IL to Clyde and Lucille (Kelley) Bradley.
On January 1, 1960 Bob married the love of his life Rebecca (Sue) McCuan-Bradley and they enjoyed 55 years of marriage.
Other survivors include four daughters, Jeff and Lori Hutchinson of Marion, Chris and Vicki Dunbar of Marion, Lonnie and Sandy Tanner of Creal Springs, Jason and Demetra Tolley of Haubstadt, IN. Grandchildren; Zachary and Erin Hutchinson, Cody and Nikki Hutchinson, Travis and Salina Dunbar, Kashia Dunbar, Seth and Allie Tanner all of Marion, Aaron and Crystal Tanner of Evansville, IN, Logan and Brandi Tanner of Marion, Mason Tanner and Gracee Tanner both of Creal Springs, EislinTolley and Ava Tolley of Haubstadt, IN Great Grandchildren; Sloan Hutchinson, Trenton and Leighton Hutchinson, Brayden Simpson, Emma Tanner, Peyton and Paislee Tanner, Conner and Jared Tanner; Niece, Rosemary Bradley and Gerald Smith, Great Nephew and Niece, Sean and Season Bradley of San Diego, CA
Bob was completely devoted to his family he dearly loved his wife and four daughters. He used every opportunity to brag on his four daughters’ and Sons-in-law accomplishments. He loved his Grandchildren and was referred to as "PaPa Bob".
Bob attended Creal Springs Grade School and Graduated from Marion High School. During his early working career he worked for the American Can Company and Supreme Bakers in Chicago, IL. Wanting to be closer to family Bob and Sue returned to Southern Illinois where he became a 30 year member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Local 638, Marion, IL. During this time he and friend Wayne Miller of Anna, IL established Southern Acoustics Inc.in Carbondale, IL. Always having a love for agriculture, he eventually became a full time farmer and farmed until he retired at age 63. Bob owned property all over Southern Illinois and truly loved the outdoors.
Bob was also a man of God and loved his church family. He never missed an opportunity to be at church when the doors were open. He was a member of Creal Springs Assembly of God for more than 40 years where he served Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, teacher, and usher.
Bob loved being around people and never met a stranger. He was an avid outdoorsman and thoroughly enjoyed gardening and hunting. For the past 15 years, Bob and Sue traveled to Texas each winter to enjoy the warmer weather.
Bob touched so many lives in so many ways he will be fondly remembered by everyone who knew him.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Lucille Bradley, Grandparents Logan and Hazel (Webb) Bradley, Brother Gene Bradley, and Great Nephew Chuck Robert Bradley.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Dennis Smith and Rev. Eddie Donelson officiating. Burial will follow at County Line Cemetery in Creal Springs. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Monday, March 2, 2015 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion.
