Richard `Rick` Wells MARION-Richard `Rick` Wells, 55, of Marion passed away at 6:07 AM, Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 3, 2005 at the Zion United Church of Christ in Marion with Reverend Louis Fluck officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 3, 2005 at the church. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is in charge of the arrangements. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant `Shed` Cemetery, east of Marion. Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross `Hurricane Relief` or Zion United Church of Christ `Logos` Program; envelopes are available at the funeral home and the church or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Rick was born on November 15, 1949 in Herrin, Illinois to Jim and Glenda (Barger) Wells. He married Toni DeRossett on November 28, 1970 in Marion. Survivors include his wife Toni of Marion; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Billie Jo Wells of Marion; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Frankie Colp of Marion; grandchildren, Kyle, Tristen, Erica, Ethan and Emilee; and sister and brother-in-law, Crystal and Rick Yates of Marion. He was preceded in death by his parents. Rick retired from the City of Marion, where he had worked for the Marion Police Department and for the last several years, the Marion City Cemetery Department.
