Richard L. Wade MARION–Richard L. Wade, 73, of Marion passed away at 2:35 PM, Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Westside Care Center in West Frankfort. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM, Monday, June 21, 2010 at the Spillertown Baptist Church in Marion with Reverend Edward “Shorty” Alsip officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM, until the time of the service on Monday at the church. Private burial will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Marion. Memorials may be made to Spillertown Baptist Church; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Richard was born April 26, 1937 in Herrin to Earl and Christina (Howell) Wade. He married his wife, Jeanette on June 14, 1957 at Spillertown Baptist Church; she preceded him in death on September 16, 1987. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Mike Byrne of Marion; son, Rick Wade of Marion; grandsons, Adam and Kyle Byrne both of Marion; step-granddaughter, Michelle Byrne of North Carolina; and extended family, Tim Kee of Marion, Cheryl Bryant of Carbondale, GeorgeAnn McCombs-Denny of Marion, Dee Dee and Don Manis of Thompsonville and Joe McCombs of Marion. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Robert Earl Wade; nephew, Keith Wade; and extended family, George and Alma McCombs, Sue and Gary Borum and Barbara and Bob Brooks. Richard was a member of Spillertown Baptist Church. He formerly worked as a coal miner for Inland Steel/Consol in Sesser. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America and the Williamson County Shrine Club.
