Richard Lunsford Marion- Richard Roy Lunsford, 64, of Marion, passed way at 6:30AM on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at his home. Visitation will be held from 10-11AM on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Memorial services will be held immediately following the visitation at 11AM on Thursday with Monsignor Ken Schafer officiating. Military Rites will be conducted after the Memorial with the VFW Post 1301, American Legion Post 147 and the National Guard performing the ceremony. Memorial donations may be made to the VFW Post 1301 Ritual Team; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent C/O Blue Funeral Home, P.O. Box 411, Marion, IL, 62959. Richard was born on June 13, 1946 in Marion to Lloyd & Rosemary (Cleek) Lunsford. Survivors include son, Justin Lunsford of Marion; brothers, Patrick & Janice Lunsford of Whiting, IN, Paul & Regina Lunsford of Carterville and Joseph Lunsford of Marion; several nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded by his parents; brothers, Jim and Michael Lunsford; sister, Rosemary Lunsford and 2 infant brothers. Richard was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving his country during the Vietnam War. He was an electrician by trade, Catholic by Faith and an avid Cubs Fan. A great loss is felt by all who knew him.
