Richard Leon Adams, Sr. Creal Springs-Richard Leon Adams, Sr., 64, of Creal Springs passed away at 7:30 AM, Friday, February 16, 2007 at his home. It was Mr. Adams wish to have his body donated to the S.I.U. Medical School. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with the arrangements. Memorials may be to Lake of Egypt Fire Department c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mr. Adams was born September 7, 1942 in Memphis, Tennessee to William Nolen and Mamie Lucille (Lawrence) Adams. Survivors include his first love Neva Yackley, son, Richard L. Adams, Jr. of Creal Springs; daughters, Renee Robertson of Abilene, Kansas, Sarah Dye of Mount Vernon, and Tammy Doyle; brothers Willie Adams of Woodville, Washington, and Hoyt Adams of San Diego, California; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Adams served on the Lake of Egypt volunteer fire department for many years; he worked with sheet metal, and was a sign maker.
