Richard Lee Alstat MARION–Richard Lee Alstat, 49, of Marion passed away at 2:19 PM on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 18, 2009 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Don Colson officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, April 17, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Indian Hill Cemetery in DeSoto. Military rites will be held at the cemetery by VFW Post 1301, American Legion Post 147 and the National Guard. Memorials may be made to his son, Robert Lee Cody Alstat; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Richard was born September 25, 1959 in DuQuoin, Illinois to Harold and Delores Bertha (Zelder) Alstat. He married Pearl Isbell and they shared 18 years of marriage. Survivors include his wife Pearl; children, Tiffany Alstat and fiancé Nathan Raley, Joseph Alstat, Brandon and Kara Alstat, Robert Lee Cody Alstat, Jeffery Wayne Severs; grandchild, Colt Justice Gant Alstat; sister, Mary Reynolds-Beckham & Randy Beckham; step-mother, Juanita Alstat; niece, Karen Reynolds; nephew, James Reynolds; great-niece, Kelsey Reynolds; great-nephews, Keire Jefferson, and Keiman Jefferson; Jody Gant the mother of Tiffany, Joseph, and Brandon. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard was an Army Staff Sergeant in the transportation department. He worked for Paschell Trucking for 16 years. He also worked on cars. The family would like to give a special thank you to Tom and Dee Agers for their friendship.
