Ray Dalton
MARION-Ray Dalton, 58, of Marion, passed away at 4:40 PM on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, January 22, 2008, at Blue Funeral Home in Marion, with Reverend Howard Strunk officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00PM until the time of the service on Tuesday, January 22, 2007 at the funeral home. Military rites will be held at the funeral home conducted by VFW Post 1301, American Legion Post 147, and the National Guard. Mr. Dalton was born May 23, 1949 in Marion to Raymond and Marie (Shadowens) Dalton.
Survivors include his daughter, Shelley Dalton of Ypsilanti, Michigan, daughter and son-in-law Amy and Freddie Stone of Campbell Hill, Kentucky, son and daughter-in-law Craig and Kim Francis of Marion, daughter, Stacey Dalton of Oklahoma, son, Dane Dalton of Marion; eleven grandchildren; brother, and sister-in-law Gary and Joella Dalton of Salyersville, Kentucky; nieces Kris Schart and Kim Dalton.
Mr. Dalton was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill Dalton; step-father, Chet Kennedy.
He served his country in the United States Army from 1968 to 1971 at which time he received an Honorable Discharge. He was a member of the American Legion, he loved playing Golf; he was a Cubâs fan and a Kentucky Basketball fan.
Upon his death Ray was able to improve the quality of life for as many as fifty people by being a tissue donor.
