Goreville — Randel Dewayne Burlison, 69, passed away at 11:25 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, in VA Nursing Home in Marion.
Randel was born Feb. 15, 1948, in Goreville, the son of Ralph and Cecile (Craig) Burlison. He married Linda Travis in Goreville on Sept. 5, 1970, and together they have shared more than 47 years of marriage.
Randel was a proud U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He loved to watch western movies on TV, traveling in his RV, trout fishing and deer hunting. Randel loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Burlison of Goreville; daughter, Audra and Thomas Hamernik of Downers Grove; grandchildren, Ava and Henry Hamernik; and five siblings.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant sister.
Private services were Saturday, Dec. 16. Burial was in Busby Cemetery.
Blue Funeral Home in Goreville is assisting the family with arrangements.
