Ralph Hiller HERRIN-Ralph Hiller, 87, of Herrin, passed away at 6:16 PM on Thursday, February 23, 2006 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, February 27, 2006 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Bro. Jerry Schell officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:30 PM on Sunday, February 26, 2006 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery south of Marion. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or to Lone Oak Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral Home or may be sent: co Blue Funeral Home, P.O. Box 411, Marion, Illinois, 62959. Mr. Hiller was born on November 29, 1918 in Williamson County to Solomon and Cora (Bush) Hiller. He was raised by Gus and Betty Barnett after his parents died in the flue epidemic of 1918. Mr. Hiller married Virginia Bulliner on February 13, 1937 and together they shared 69 years of marriage. He is survived by his wife; son, Fred and Ann Hiller of Mesquite, Texas; daughter, Jennie and Kenneth Jones of Energy; grandchildren, Greg and Tracey Beach of Cartersville, Georgia, Leanne and Brian Mausey of Carterville, Illinois, Vicki and John Masten of Bear, Delaware; great grandchildren, Devin Beach, Treg Beach, Vana Beach, Paige Mausey, Bill and Kelly Shontz; great great grandchild, Corynne Shontz; sister, Mabel Reynolds of Downers Grove, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; one sister; infant son. He retired from the trucking industry after 45 years. He loved fishing and gardening. He was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church in Energy.
