Phyllis A Peebels

Phyllis A. Peebels, age 78, of Pittsburg, Illinois,  passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.

Phyllis was born at home in rural Pittsburg, Illinois on August 08, 1943, a daughter of William J. and Edna M. (Bishop) Mocaby.  She married the love of her life, Rex G. Peebels on December 21, 1962 in Whiteash, Illinois.  Phyllis graduated Johnston City High School and got married shortly after.  She was a stay at home mom and farm wife, helping her husband daily with farm chores and work.  She enjoyed  working in her flower beds and she loved her animals.  Spending time with her grandchildren was very special to her.  Phyllis was also known for her sewing and seamstress abilities.   

She is survived by two children, Dayton T. (Jill) Peebels of Pittsburg, IL and Gaye M. (Ricky) Benedict of Pittsburg, IL; four grandchildren, Brittany (Brandon) Lambert, Kristina (Jared) Merritt, Megan (Jordan) McGuire, and Jesse Benedict; six great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Lambert, Bryson Lambert, Troy Benedict, Tucker Benedict, Mia McGuire, and Micah Merritt; and one brother, William (Carolyn) Mocaby.  She is preceded in death by her husband Rex G. Peebels and her parents, William J. and Edna M. Mocaby.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 2, 2022, 10:00 AM at Mt. Pleasant- Poordo Cemetery with Rev. John Howat officiating. Burial will follow.
