Pauline Thompson CREAL SPINGS-Pauline Thompson, 78, of Creal Springs passed away at 4:50 AM, Friday, April 25, 2008 at Heartland Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM, Monday, April 28, 2008 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Edward “Shorty” Alsip officiating. Visitation will from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, April 27, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Francis DeSales Cemetery in New Burnside. Mrs. Thompson was born March 21, 1930 in Saline County to Beckford “Judge” and Ruth Mae (Shadowens) Garris. She married Virgil Thompson on May 29, 1948 in Galatia, he preceded her in death on December 4, 1995, and they shared 47 years of marriage together. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Marvin and Lillian Thompson of West Frankfort; Virgil and Nancy Thompson of Stiritz; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Carl and Alice Garris of Marion; sisters, Nadine Mulkins of Pittsburg, and Anna Mae Thompson of Creal Springs. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Virgil; daughter, Donna McCabe; a brother and four sisters. Mrs. Thompson was a Baptist. She loved gardening and country music. She will be missed by all who knew her.
