Marion-Ouida Sumrall, 86, formerly of Amherst, VA and Wiggins, MS, passed away at 12:30pm on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Helia Healthcare in Herrin.
Ouida was born on October 16, 1928 in Cleveland County, AR to George Thomas and Mary Annie (Wilson) Parker. She married James Elliot Sumrall, Sr. on July 8, 1949 in Columbia, MO. He preceded her in death on March 3, 2008.
Ouida received her nursing degree from Jones County Junior College. She worked many years as the floor supervisor of Gulf Port Memorial Hospital in Gulf Port, MS before later working as an RN in the Stone County Health Department in Stone County, GA.
She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Marion. In her spare time, she enjoyed travelling, bird watching and hiking. She was a talented artist who specialized in watercolor. She was a loving a nurturing woman who loved her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter during childbirth, and seven brothers and sisters- Miles Woodrow Parker, Paul Parker, Pauline Martin, Mattie Lou Parker, Lloyd George Parker, Mary Helen Parker and Frances Ruth Thompson.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Owens Memorial Services in Rustin, LA. Rev. Paul Martin will officiate. Local arrangements were made at Blue Funeral Home in Marion.
