Orvil Garris

STONEFORT-Orvil E. `Mudshark` Garris, Sr., 47, of Marion passed away at 6:05 AM, Friday, July 2, 2004 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 5, 2004 at the Blue Funeral Home, Marion with Reverend Murle Jack officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Sunday, July 4, 2004 at funeral home. Monitor Lodge #236 Knights of Pythias services will be held at 6:00 PM, Sunday evening during the visitation. Burial will be at Garris Chapel Cemetery, Stonefort. Memorials may be made in his memory to his family, envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mr. Garris was born on May 7, 1957 in Marion, Illinois to W. J. and Nadine (Garris) Mulkins. He married Lora Dunn on December 30, 1977 in Marion and she survives. Other survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Danny and Nida Dunn of Creal Springs, and Orvil Garris, Jr. of Stonefort; daughter, Sharon Kay Garris of Creal Springs; grandchildren, Dixie and Jake; sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Kenneth Norris of Pittsburg; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. Mr. Garris was employed at General Dynamics. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 89 AF & AM and the Monitor Lodge #236, Knights of Pythias.
