Oral D. Jackson
MARION-Oral D. Jackson, 88, of Marion passed away at 8:45 AM, March 22, 2004 at Parkway Manor in Marion.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 25, 2004 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Eddie Donnelson officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Manteca, California. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or Alzheimerâs Association; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959.
Mr. Jackson was born on October 20, 1915 in Marion, Illinois to Gilbert and Gertie (Phillips) Jackson. He married Wilma Rowland on July 5, 1936, she preceded him in death on March 21, 1997.
Survivors include daughter, Norma Bontifant of Pasadena, California; daughter, Charlene Frazier of Marion; grandchildren, Ricky Holte, Connie Englehart, Cindy McManis, Dale Bontifant, Daconda Fontenot and Boyd Allen Frazier, II; sixteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; brother and sister-in-law, Gilbert and Kay Jackson of Marion; sister, Violet Henderson of Marion; and sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Melvin Shadowens of Sarasota, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; sister, Reba Ice; brother, Russell Jackson; and son-in-law, Boyd Frazier.
Mr. Jackson retired from McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft after 25 years of service. He attended Whiteash Freewill Baptist Church. He loved gardening.
