GOREVILLE-Ora Lillian Terry, 94, of Goreville passed away at 8:28 AM, Sunday, May 2, 2004 at Heartland Regional Medical Center, Marion. She goes to join her husband of 75 years, Henry Terry, in heaven.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at the Blue Funeral Home in Goreville with Reverend Alan Milligan and Reverend Jeff Bealmear officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Cana Cemetery, Goreville. Lillian was born in Carterville, Illinois on March 9, 1910 to Thomas Jefferson and Iota (Hopkins) Escue. She married Henry P. Terry on February 6, 1930 in Marion, Illinois, he preceded her in death on July 9, 2003.
Lillian leaves behind a sister, whom she helped raise after their mother`s death, June Escue Thornton of Goreville; daughter, Iota Fern Terry Hermann and son-in-law, Stephen Hermann of Paducah, Kentucky; she will be terribly missed by her grandchildren, to whom she was a very special grandmother, Terry Peas and his wife, Patricia of Cary, Robert Gene Peas and his wife Janie of Vienna, Larry Peas and his wife Denise of Creal Springs, Steven Hermann and his wife Beverly Kay of Goreville and Mary Vaughn and her husband Dennis of Goreville; eleven great grandchildren; Sean and Dan Peas of Cary, Alex Peas, Garrett and Rachael Burroughs of Goreville, Anissa Peas of Creal Springs, Glenn Peas and Lynn Schroth of Lincoln, Leslie Ellis and Katie Hermann of Marion; step-great granddaughter, Lisa, who has been a comfort to her in the past year; seven great great grandchildren, Dalton Schroth, Glenn and Samuel Peas, Brannon and Holly Bullock, Destiny Ellis and Noel Peas.
Mrs. Terry was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Earl and Dallas Escue; and four sisters, Pearl Tripp, Velma Tripp, Afton Newton and Florine Baker.
Lillian lived a long life, most of it spent in Goreville. Her greatest joy was her family. She will be sadly missed by all.
