Norval Ray Bundren
Creal Springs-Norval Ray Bundren, 81, of Creal Springs passed away at 10:20 AM, Sunday, February 18, 2007 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Ivan Ryan officiating. Visitation will from 5:00 to 9:00 PM, Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Wise-Robinson Cemetery in Ozark.
Mr. Bundren was born April 17, 1925 in Palzo, Illinois to Roscoe and Ollie (Rodgers) Bundren. He was united in marriage to Melba Louise Anderson in Corinth, Mississippi on November 4, 1947, and together they shared thirty-eight years of marriage until her death on May 30, 1985. Born to the marriage were two sons, Bobby Ray and Charles Deon Bundren. He then married Marilyn Martin on August 23, 1987, and she survives.
He was a member of the Arnold View Freewill Baptist Church and the U.M.W.A.
Mr. Bundren was employed at the Peabody Will Scarlett Coal Mines and he retired in 1987.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed music and loved playing his mandolin. He was also a devoted family oriented man. He never met a stranger. Prior to his failing health he visited and did odd jobs for relatives and friends throughout the community.
Mr. Bundren is survived by his wife Marilyn; one son Deon Bundren; twin brother Orval Bundren; sister and brother-in-law Edith and J.V. Tanner; sister-in-law Irene Bundren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son Bobby Ray Bundren; bother Lloyd; brother and sister-in-law Ernest and Anna Mae Bundren; sisters and brothers-in-law Myrtle and Paul Edwards; and Helen and Herman Rector; sister-in-law Mary Ada Bundren.
