Norman Neathery WEST FRANKFORT-Norman Neathery, 65, of West Frankfort passed away at 6:00 AM, Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Sunday, March 4, 2007 at Victory Baptist Church in Carterville with Pastor Rick Dawson officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Saturday, March 3, 2007 at the church. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is in charge of the arrangements. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Military rites will be held at the cemetery with Marion VFW Post 1301 and American Legion Post 147 conducting the services. Memorials may be made to Victory Baptist Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois; envelopes will be available at the church or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mr. Neathery was born March 18, 1941 in Mulberry Grove, Illinois to Elbert and Ruth (Weimer) Neathery. He married Mary Smith on March 6, 1982 in Mulberry Grove; together they shared almost 25 years of marriage. Survivors include his wife, Mary of West Frankfort; sons, Nathan O. Neathery of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Jeremiah A. Neathery of West Frankfort; and brother and sister-in-law, Irvan and Eileen Neathery of Greenville. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond and Ivan; and sister, Leona Neathery. Mr. Neathery was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Carterville.
