Norma Merrell

September 10, 1927 — February 16, 2014

Marion-Norma Merrell, 86, went to be with her lord at 1:55pm on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin. Norma was born on September 10, 1927 in Williamson County to George and Hazel (McCombs) Moulton. She married Spiller Merrell on January 5, 1946 in Marion. He preceded her in death on June 25, 1998. Norma retired from the VA Hospital in North Chicago, IL. She was of Protestant faith and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Survivors include: Daughter-Melody Merrell and husband James Conyers Grandchildren: Brian Ambrogio and wife Lynn Cortney Conyers Great grandchildren: Stephen and Avery Ambrogio Madreah Whittle Sisters: Erma Boester Phyliss McGinness She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and daughter, Madra Merrell Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 1:30pm at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. John Howat officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant “Poordo” Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 from 5pm-8pm at the funeral home.
