Norma Fay Gordon MARION–Norma Fay Gordon, 82, of Marion passed away at 12:15 PM, Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at Herrin Hospital. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, July 11, 2008 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Jeff Wiggs officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, July 10, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Energy. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or Marion Senior Citizens; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mrs. Gordon was born May 26, 1926 in Carterville, Illinois to Dennis and Lena (Newell) McCree. She married George William “Bill” Gordon on December 26, 1946 in Henderson, Kentucky; he preceded her in death on June 8, 1966. Survivors include her brother, John McCree of Herrin; sister, Mary Ealy of Olney; sister and brother-in-law, Elva and Gene Anderson of Marion; sisters-in-law, Marilee McCree, Zella Mae McCree, Ivoleen McCree and Shirley Martin; brother-in-law, Jerry Draeger; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; seven brothers, Alvin, Woodrow, Hershel, Willis, Elbert, Donald and Dennis Jr.; and four sisters, Wanda Meneese, Dorothy Draeger, Eva McCree and Ines Stephens. Mrs. Gordon attended Hurricane Baptist Church in Herrin. She retired from the Olin Corporation in 1988. She loved to do crafts, attend the Marion Senior Citizens and traveling.
