Marion Nancy Jane O’Very, 71, of Marion went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 4:54 PM in Herrin Hospital. It was Nancy’s wishes that her earthly body be cremated and that a Memorial Service be held on Monday, April 23, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverends Keith Owens & Mike Hood officiating. A time of gathering for family and friends will be held at 10:00 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Scottsboro Baptist Church; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL, 62959. Mrs. O’Very was born to Victor & Hettie (Wilson) Hodges on Wednesday, December 18, 1940 in Monition Co., MO. She was united in Holy Matrimony with Frank Ernest O’Very on Valentine’s Day, Friday, February, 14, 1958; nearly two months after her 17th birthday. They shared 53 years of marriage until his passing on Wednesday, October, 13, 2010. Nancy is survived by her children, Raven White of Albuquerque, NM, Frank Jr. & Karen O’Very of Bird City, KS, Jenny O’Very of Herrin, Nina Pearce of Marion, Nancy & Cecil Shelton of Creal Springs, Ricky O’Very, Dominick O’Very, both of Marion; grandchildren, Briana O’Very of Denver, Rex & Ciara Summers of Lake of Egypt, Nancy Rodenberg of Terre Du Lac, MO and Frank & Leslie Rodenberg of Park Hills, MO; very special great-grandchild, Kalea Jane Ricketts; 10 great-grandchildren & 1 on the way, and niece, who was more like a daughter, Robin O’Very (Gary Kleeschulte) of St. Charles, MO; close family friend, Jonathon K. Summers of Johnston City and other extended family and friends. Mrs. O’Very is preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Pete & Jenny Wilson and husband, Frank. Nancy Jane hopes that she has left many fond memories of Holiday gatherings with her large family, and was especially optimistic that Kalea Jane holds on to the many memories shared with Nancy on special holiday projects. On Christmas Kalea had her own unique Christmas tree that she decorated differently for each occasion. It was on this holiday that Nancy and Kalea made Jesus a Birthday Cake and sang Happy Birthday; on Easter they once again would make a cake and inscribe upon it “Jesus is Alive”. Mrs. O’Very was hopeful that these occasions will live on in Kalea’s heart and she will forever remember the love Grandma had in her heart for her. Kalea was her Angel.
