Roxanne Nadine Harris, age 87, of Millbrook, Alabama, formerly of Marion, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at Shelby County Medical Center in Alabaster, Alabama.
Nadine was born on May 31, 1933 in Marion to George and Velma (Mores) Groves. She married Kenneth Earl “7” Harris in November of 1952 in Marion and he preceded her in death on August 6, 2020.
Nadine was a typesetter for many years for Hill Printing. She was a member of New Dennison Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include: one daughter, Debra Jo Upchurch of Millbrook, Alabama; two grandsons, Brian (Naomi) Upchurch of Millbrook, Alabama and Michael (Laura) Upchurch of Hendersonville, Tennessee; three great-grandchildren, Hannah Nixon, Kaelynn Upchurch and Keira Upchurch; brothers, Charles Groves, Jack I. Groves and Johnny Groves and sister, Cheryl Ramsey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and siblings, Irene Smith, George Groves, Jr., Carl Groves, Alice McNail, Michael Groves and Wendell Groves.
Graveside funeral services will be held at Coal Bank Springs Cemetery in Marion on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend David Milburn officiating. A time of visitation will be held at Blue Funeral Home in Marion on Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
Due to health concerns related to the COVID-19 virus, those attending the burial are asked to maintain social distancing guidelines and wear a face mask.
