Marion _ Muriel L. Ferguson, 83, of Marion, passed away on November11, 2010 at
2:52 PM at her home surrounded by her family.
Services will be held Monday, November 15, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Spillertown Baptist Church with Reverend Kenny Blumenstock, Reverend Steve Shea, Robert Ferguson, Jr. and Kyle Strunk officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Spillertown Baptist Church from 5:00-8:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois and the Spillertown Baptist Church; envelopes will be available during the services or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL, 62959.
Muriel was born on May 22, 1927 in Williamson County to William A. & Minnie S. (Parsons) Blumenstock. She married Jesse Ferguson on February 1, 1945 in Spillertown, IL. He preceded her in death on May 12, 1996.
Survivors include her daughters, Carol Marsh of Spillertown and Becky & Steve Strunk of White Ash; sons, Lindle Ferguson of Spillertown, Bob & Wanda Ferguson, Sr. of Goreville, Howard & Lorie Ferguson of Indianapolis, IN, Randy & Linda Ferguson of Naperville, IL, John & Tammy Ferguson of Romeoville, IL; sister, Audrey Ramsey of Elgin, IL; sisters-in-law, Loudene Blumenstock and Mabel Ferguson; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several nieces & nephews.
Muriel was preceded in death by her husband; parents; grandson, Ryan Patrick Ferguson; three brothers & two sisters-in-law, Charles & Reba Blumenstock, Albert & Arvilla Blumenstock and Bob Blumenstock; infant brother, John Ray Blumenstock; sister, Ruth Fern Blumenstock; brothers-in-law, William Ramsey and Jewell Ferguson; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Joe & Lillie Ferguson; daughters-in-law, Sue Ferguson and Brenda Ferguson.
Muriel was a longtime and faithful member of the Spillertown Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and a former cook at the Marion Memorial Hospital, and enjoyed the art of quilting.
