Stonefort- Mildred J. Swan, 85, of Stonefort, passed away at 9:30 PM, Friday, October 18, 2013 with her children by her side at her home in Stonefort. Mildred was born on October 10, 1928 in Bolton, IL to Aldon and Velma (Jones) Shadowens.  She married Daniel Swan, JR. on February 9, 1948.  He preceded her in death on October 10, 2006. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and feeding her family.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and playing the piano and guitar. Survivors include- Son- Danny Swan and wife Brenda of Stonefort Daughter- Roberta Parton and husband Terry of Joliet Son- Ronnie Swan and wife Connie of West Frankfort Son- Jack Swan of Stonefort Son- Kenny Swan and wife Donna of Herrin Son- Allen Swan and wife Lisa of Marion Daughter- Kathy Jimenez and husband Tony of Joliet Son- Brad Swan and wife Michele of Marion Daughter- Millie Gooch and husband Darrin of Marion 17 Grandchildren 19 Great Grandchildren Brother- Bill Shadowens and wife Helen of Galatia Sister- Wilma Swan of Carrier Mills She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one infant brother. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion.  Rev. Edward “Shorty” Alsip will officiate.  Burial will follow at Coal Bank Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:00- 8:00 PM, Monday, October 21, 2013 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Memorial donations are suggested to VNA/TIP Hospice or the Muscular Dystrophy Association and will be accepted at Blue Funeral Home/ 1704 N. Court St/ Marion, IL   62959.
