Marion- Marjorie Ann (Moore) Borum, 87, of Springfield, IL, died at 6:24 PM, Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Memorial Hospital of Springfield.
Marjorie was born on April 27, 1926 in Marion to Charles J. and Clara Belle (Basham) Moore. She married Henry Lowell Borum on December 19, 1945 in Kentucky. She and Henry celebrated over 52 years of marriage before his death in 1997.
She retired in 1988 from the Illinois Baptist State Association (IBSA) after 17 ½ years. She was a 15 year member of Ansaretto (Widows of Shriner’s) and she volunteered at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield for over 5 years as a “Good Samaritan”. She was a member of Springfield Southern Baptist Church for many years.
Survivors include her daughters; Tanya Peckinpaugh of Murray, UT and Yolanda Deutchman of Springfield, one son; Barry Jarvis of Minneapolis, MN, three granddaughters; Rochelle Coleman of Watertown, MN, Krista Belle Dietrich of Texas and Kaytee Bossman of Springfield, two grandsons; Derack LaPlante of Ham Lake, MN and Christopher Jarvis of Minneapolis, eight grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son; Jeffrey A. Borum, sister; Virginia Lee Troutman and one brother; Charles J. Moore.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Rev. Michael Keppler of Springfield Southern Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until time of service, Wednesday at the funeral home.
