Mildred H. Ward MARION-Mildred H. Ward, 91, of Marion passed away at 2:00 AM, Saturday, November 26, 2005 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, November 28, 2005 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville with Pastor Cindy Absher officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 AM, Monday, November 28, 2005 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Mrs. Ward was born on February 24, 1914 in Carterville, Illinois to Samuel M. and Dona (Day) Hampton. She married Robert C. Ward on August 7, 1938 in Cairo, Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 12, 1995 Survivors include daughters, Linda Ward of Marion, Donna and Paul Mann of Energy; son, Robert H. and Linda Ward of Lafayette, Louisiana; grandchildren, Robin Mann of Springfield, Oregon, Christopher and Jamie Ward of McKinney, Texas, Steven and Winona Ward of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Sara and Jared Bourne of Gonzales, Louisiana; great grandchild, James Mann of Springfield, Oregon; sister, June Hampton of Marion, Virginia Craig of Steelville, Illinois She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant sister Mary Lee Hampton. Mrs. Ward graduated from Carterville High School in 1933. She was a registered nurse for over 40 years. She spent 26 years at St. Alexis Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.
