Goreville—Mildred Faye Parrish, 95 of Goreville, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at 3:30 PM at Hill View Nursing Home in Vienna. Funeral services for Mildred will be held at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Dr. Ron Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow in Cana Cemetery-Goreville. A time of gathering for family and friends will be from 5-8 PM on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Hill View Nursing Home. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL, 62959. Mildred was born in Goreville to Thomas & Daisy (Ollis) Burklow on Tuesday, December 4, 1917. She married Elvis Dean Parrish who precedes her in death. She is survived by her children, Sherry Durham of Goreville, Kenneth & Thelma Parrish of Scottsdale, AZ, Jack & Shirley Parrish of Marion, William & Donna Parrish of Scottsdale, AZ, Bobbie Parrish of Marion and Dennis & Alisa Parrish of Goreville; grandchildren, Rusty Parrish, Toni Merchant, Jackie Sue Durham, Cindy Ragain, Michael Parrish, Chris Parrish, Tammy Cain, Marty Parrish, Donavon Parrish, Melissa Parrish-Burton, Brian Parrish, Renee Parrish, Travis Parrish, Chastity Parrish, Josh Parrish and Tyler Parrish; eighteen great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; sister, Opal Hester of Sullivan, IN and brother-in-law, William Williams of Englewood, FL. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elvis Dean; children, Max Parrish, John Wayne Parrish and Carl Jean “Tubby” Parrish; siblings, Maxine Williams, Ralph Burklow, Thomas Dale Burklow and Lynn Burklow. Mildred loved to garden and shop at K-Mart. She was fondly known as “The K-Mart Lady”. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Goreville, where she loved to attend services and also sing the Gospel. She loved spending time with her large family and will be missed by all who knew her.
