Marion-Robert “Mikey” Boaz, 19, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2014.
Mikey was the son of William T. Boaz III and Tammy (Tegtmeier) Franklin. He was born on August 14, 1995 in Marion.
He is survived by his parents; step father, Patrick Franklin; three sisters, Chelsea Boaz, Andrea Stout and Kiley Boaz all of Marion; Nana Cindy Tegtmeier of Marion; Grandma, Collenn (Rich) Everett of Abbyville, GA; Grandpa, William T. Boaz Jr. of Marion; aunts, Donna aka Mimi Tegtmeier, Carrie Jean (Darrell) Coleman; aunt, Teresa Boaz of Marion; cousins, Emma Lee, Maecee Coleman, Brea Tegtmeier, Bentlee Tegtmeier all of Marion.
Mikey is also survived by his girlfriend, Jocelyn McGee; special friends, Justin Van Horn, Christopher Marshall, Trenton Moore, Michael Taylor, Andrew Taylor, Logan Reagan, Destinie Ocampo, Trent Halliday and Tiffany Smith.
He was preceded in death by his Pa, Butch Tegtmeier; his Grandpa, William T. Boaz Sr; Great Grandma, Myrtle Boaz; Grandpa, John Franklin; Great Grandpa Chuck Reagan and Great Grandma, Maryann Reagan.
Mikey was an avid race fan and driver. His Friday nights were spent at the I-57 drag strip. He loved to fish and hunt. Fords and Hondas were his passion. His smile and laugh brightened any room he entered. He never knew a stranger. His nana was his world. He will be missed by all.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 11am at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Burial will follow at Cana Cemetery in Goreville. Visitation will be on Friday, September 26, 2014 from 5pm-8pm at the funeral home.
Memorial donations are suggested to the family and will be accepted at Blue Funeral Home/ 1704 N. Court St/ Marion, IL 62959.
