Melba Trimm

Marion- Melba L. Trimm, 84, of Herrin, passed away Sunday, January 8th, 2012 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Funeral services for Mrs. Trimm will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 11 am at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion. There will be a time of visitation from 9am until the service hour. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be sent C/O Blue Funeral Home PO Box 411 Marion 62959. Mrs. Trimm was born February 16th, 1927, in Pine Valley Oklahoma, the daughter of Paul and Nancy (Phillips) Scarbrough. She married Herman Trimm June 7, 1945 in Idabel, Oklahoma; together they shared 65 years of marriage until his death on July 3, 2010. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Debra and James Hilliard of Marion; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Jerry Watson of Marion; grandchildren, James Devin and Daphyne Hilliard, Jennifer and Shane Russell and Nick DeFrank; great grandchildren, Ryan Hilliard and Ashley Hilliard; sister Janette Dorris and sister Florine Miller, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Pauline Scarbrough, brother Ernie Scarbrough and brother Ernest Scarbrough, and son-in-law Sam DeFrank. She was a member of the Heartland Christian Church and a member of the Order of The Eastern Star. She was formerly a noon time supervisor at Washington School, where she worked for many years. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family.
