Goreville—McKay Youngman, 77, of Goreville, passed away at 6:41pm on Friday, April 3, 2015 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
McKay was born on January 22, 1938 in Mt. Carmel, IL to Alma Rice and Harmon Youngman.
McKay spent 4 years in the Navy then 9 years at Western Electric. He then spent 27 years at GTE followed by 3 years at ITI. He traveled a lot before settling in Goreville. McKay served on the U.S.S. Saratoga as a Communications Officer. He was a very honest man and the best father and husband. He loved to spend time with family and friends. Heaven is blessed to have him.
He is survived by his wife Mary Youngman (Smith); Son, Michael Lee Youngman of Donjola; Daughters, Lisa Cagle of Marion, Michelle Neal of Goreville; Grandchildren, Timothy Neal of Woodlawn, Justin Gregg of Marion, Shannon Youngman of Herrin, Austin Youngman of Herrin and Kennett McKay Youngman of Dongola; Great grandchildren, Sydney Goldsberry of Woodlawn, Ryan Neal of Woodlawn, Tyler McKay Neal; Sister, Patricia Moore of Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his Parents; 1st Wife Patricia Hughes-Youngman; Brothers-in-law, Frank C. Smith, Michael lee Smith, David William Smith; Sister-in-law, Bonnie Lou Mason.
Visitation will be on Tuesday at 11am at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, April 7 at 1pm with Dr. Ron Ferguson officiating. Military rights will be at Cana Cemetery.
