Mattie Elizabeth Terry BENTON- 8220;Mattie Elizabeth Terry, 92, of Benton formerly of Goreville passed away at 2:40 PM, Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at Helia Healthcare Center in Benton. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 15, 2008 at the Blue Funeral Home in Goreville with Reverend Tim Gossett officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Cana Cemetery in Goreville. Memorials may be made to Central Methodist Church in West Frankfort; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mrs. Terry was born on January 25, 1916 in Cypress, Illinois to Henry and Bessie (Beggs) George. She married Chauncey Terry; he preceded her in death. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Tari Terry of Benton; daughter and son-in-law, Esther and Necdet Ozbay of Alexandria, Virginia; and grandchildren, Trent Terry of Benton, Melih Ozbay of Virginia, Chris Terry of Thompsonville and Ricky Bonthron; . She was preceded by her parents; husband; son, John C. Terry; and sister, Lorene Webb. Mrs. Terry was a member of Central Methodist Church in West Frankfort. She was a teacher, having taught in West Frankfort, Goreville and Carterville. She was a member of the Teachers Association.
