Mathew Graves, Jr. MARION– Mathew Graves, Jr., 87, of Marion passed away at 8:10 AM, Monday, August 23, 2010 at his home. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion with Reverend Gordon Montgomery officiating. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with the services. Mathew was born August 15, 1923 in Williamson County to Mathew and Grace (Hill) Graves. He married Mildred Talley in 1946; she preceded him in death in October of 1950. He later married Helen Ruth Launius in January of 1952; she preceded him in death on April 9, 2000. Survivors include his children, Kathryn and Alan Ozment of Collinsville; Gerald and Melissa Graves, James R. Graves and Eric and Amy Graves all of Marion; grandchildren, Michael and Karen Ozment, Teresa Bail, Steven Lawrence, David Joe Graves, Autumn Graves, Austin Graves, Dylan Graves and Tyler Graves; great grandchildren, Kyra and William Ozment and six others. He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; son, Mathew Graves, III; daughter, Carlyn Graves; and sister, Lucille Bailey. Mathew was a member of Coal Bank Springs Baptist Church. He worked as a coal miner for almost 40 years. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. He loved his kids, grandkids and the Lord.
