Mary A. Rice-Whiting Marion- Mary A. Rice-Whiting, 87, of Marion passed away at 2:35 AM, Friday, December 17, 2010 at Heartland regional Medical Center in Marion. Services will be held at 12:00 PM, Monday, December 20, 2010 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion, with Reverend John Burnett officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Monday, December 20, 2010 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Marion; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL, 62959. Mary was born on August 9, 1923 in Johnson County, IL to Albert & Elsie (Short) Motsinger. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lee Newton of Marion; son, Ken Rice of Crown Point, IN; grandchildren, Don & Pam Newton, Mike Newton, Sherry Chitwood and Kim Rice; great-grandchildren, Cassie Newton, Ryan Newton, Whitney Newton, Adam Cannon, Joshua Hughes, Jonathan Hughes, Nicole Bellows, Cody Chitwood and Lisa Chitwood; great-great-grandchildren, Quentin Acklin, Shay Acklin, Brody Acklin, Kiliegh Newton, Ryleigh Parkhurst, Noah Cannon and Joey Bellows; nieces, Sandra Teems and Ann Marie Baltzell. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Kenneth Motsinger and Cleburn Chenoweth; sister, Opal Taylor. Mary was a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle. She worked as a waitress for many years and was previously employed by Fountains Nursing Home. She enjoyed fishing and attending the Marion Senior Citizens Center. Her family would like to thank Addus Home Health Care for their loving care during the last few years of Mary’s life. They would especially like to thank Wilma Holder.
