MARION-Mary Louise Swafford, 87, of Marion passed away at 12:47 AM, Wednesday February 23, 2005 at Fountains Nursing Home in Marion. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, February 24, 2005 at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Energy with Earl Ray Dungey officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, Thursday, February 24, 2005 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mrs. Swafford was born on July 3, 1917 in Marmaduke, AR to J.W. and Lucinda (Rasco) Dungey. She married Orville Swafford and he preceded her in death on November 21, 1994. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Bill Noel of Marion; son, Wesley Swafford of Plant City, FL; grandchildren, Christian Martin, Darcy Clawson, Mark Noel, Mike Noel, Melissa Koinzan, Michelle Laird, Brad Noel, Jason Noel, Brad Swafford, Wendy Whiteford; sixteen great grandchildren; sister, Kathleen Rader of Marion. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Swafford was a Homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church and a member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary.
