Goreville-Mary Lou Craig, 74, passed away at 4:58 am, on Monday, April 15, 2019 at her home.

Mary was born on August 11, 1944 in Vienna to Daniel and Gertrude (Brown) Schierbaum. She married Curtis Craig on September 4, 1970 at Goreville Pentecostal Church. Together they shared 48 wonderful years. She was retired after working many years as a service representative for GTE.

After retirement she worked in the Water Department for the Village of Goreville. Mary was an active member of Lick Creek Pentecostal Church and was a former member of Pulley’s Mill Pentecostal Church. She was a kind and helpful woman with a big heart who cared for others and did what she could for those in need. In her spare time, she enjoyed tending to her flower garden and spending time with her loved ones.

Survivors include: Husband-Curtis Craig of Goreville

Step Daughter-Tammy Sue Sheehan and husband Jim of Benton

Step Daughter-Theresa Lynn Roberg and husband Roger of Buford, SC

Three step grandchildren and nine step great grandchildren

Brother-Chester Schierbaum and wife Ellon of Goreville

Brother-Robert Schierbaum and wife Karen of Tunnel Hill

Numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents and step great grandson, Eric Roberg.

The funeral services will be held on Friday, April 19, 2019 at 10am at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville with Rev. Johnny Delaney officiating. Burial will follow at Busby Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 18, 2019 from 5pm-8pm at the funeral home.
