Mary L. Grimm

Marion Mary L. Grimm, 88, of Herrin passed away in Parkway Manor Sunday, September 2, 2012 at 8:21 AM. Funeral mass for Mary is scheduled for Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 11AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin, Illinois with Monsignor Ken Schaefer officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will precede the funeral service starting at 10AM at the church and lasting until the service hour. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is in charge of arrangements. Mary was born in Marion to the late Mike & Irene (Racine) Manfredo on November 10, 1923. She married Fred Grimm; he preceded her in death on October 17, 1968. Mrs. Grimm was an Administrative Assistant for the U.S. Treasury, where she was the examiner for national banks. Mary also enjoyed being an active member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin, Illinois. Mary is survived by several nieces and nephews including Robbie & Melanie Randolph, Marty & Joni Manfredo, and Mike & Lynn Manfredo; Sister-in-law , Charlotte Manfredo. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband; Brothers, Lou Manfredo, Frank Manfredo, Tony Manfredo, Joe Manfredo, John Manfredo; Sisters, Rose Green, Angie Randolph, Louis DiBennardo, Josephine Panaro, Mae Stanisci, Elena Manfredo; Infant sister, Little Rose Manfredo. The family would like to give a special thanks to Parkway Manor Nursing Home & Hospice of Southern Illinois for the care they gave their loved-one during the time of need.
