Mary Jo Krantz

Marion Mary Jo Krantz, 79, of Marion passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Graveside committal will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 10:00 AM in Oddfellows Cemetery in Marion. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Mary Jo was born to Clyde & Lena (Bankston) Jack in Williamson County on Sunday, October 9, 1932. She married Harold Krantz in Greenville, Miss. On Monday, November 10, 1952; they were just 4 months shy of their 60th anniversary. Mrs. Krantz is survived by the love of her life, Harold; children, Clyde Moake of Long Beach, CA, Beverly & Robert Binkley of Marion and Sherry & Kenneth Carter of Phippsburg, CO; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and siblings, Robert & Maryann Jack of Goreville, Wanda & John Sharp of Santa Fe Springs, CA and Jeanine Dempsey of Palmdale, CA. Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde & Lena; sister, Shirley Reynolds and step-father, Kenneth Thomas. Mary Jo loved going to yard sales in search of “little treasures” that she used for her second passion, decorating her home. Her family can attest that she was an EXCELLENT cook and a very generous, caring person. She loved her family and carried a tender spot in her heart for her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Her presence in life will be missed tremendously.
