Mary Evelyn McNeely

Mary Evelyn McNeely, 90, of Fulton, Illinois formerly of Jonesboro, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at 1:05 pm at Generations at Rock Island.

Evelyn was born May 27, 1931 in Jonesboro the daughter of James Everett and Mary Elizabeth (Mixon) McNeely.

After becoming ill at 8 years old with scarlet fever Evelyn became deaf, completely losing her hearing.  She retired after a career as a baker, she then continued her education becoming a nurse and working in a doctor’s office.

Survivors include her Sisters, Dorothy Lymangrover of Las Vega, Nevada, Barbara Hunt of Lyons, Illinois, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, Great great neices and great great nephews.  She is preceded by her Parents, brothers, James and Jess McNeely, sisters, Edna McNeely, Marion Kovalcik and Janet Peterson.

Funeral services will be Sunday, July 25, 2021 at 1:30 pm at Blue Funeral Home in Marion.  Burial will follow in McKinney Chapel Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday from 11:30 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
