Mary Comp

Mary Ketteman Comp, 73, of Goreville, IL passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021 after a long battle with cancer.

Mary was born August 14, 1947 to John R. and Mary (Lynch) Ketteman. Mary was the first daughter in a family of 12 children. She worked for many years in management in the hospitality industry, managing restaurants in Herrin, IL and Carbondale, IL. Her most recent career was in heavy equipment sales, along with her husband, Dave Comp, who survives.

Mary was a talented quilt maker, who generously shared her beautiful quilts with friends and family. She enjoyed living and working on her farm, and could be found on most summer days mowing and gardening.

Surviving Mary are her husband, Dave Comp; 9 brothers, Raymond Ketteman, William Ketteman, John (Shirley) Ketteman, Richard (Pat) Ketteman, Jesse (Brenda) Ketteman, Ronald (Marilyn) Ketteman, Warren (Lisa) Ketteman, Francis (Debra) Ketteman, and Delbert Ketteman; two sisters, Janice (Brad) Masters, and Roselyn (Kevin) Johnson; 13 nieces; 11 nephews; stepdaughter, Theresa Keaveny; stepson, Pat Comp; four step-grandchildren; and one step-great granddaughter; along with many cousins.

 In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur Costoldi; a great niece; and two sisters-in-law.

According to her wishes, there will not be a public service.
