Marion-Mary Evelyn Benton, 85, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Herrin Hospital. Mary was born on May 19, 1929 in Pittsburg to Adolph and Elizabeth (Douglas) Zoeller. She married James W. Benton in Johnston City in 1946. Together they shared 67 wonderful years of marriage. Mary was formerly employed at Marion Memorial Hospital and later she and her husband volunteered at Heartland Regional. She was a longtime and faithful member at First Baptist Church and served along with husband in the ministry for many years. Survivors include: Daughter-Robyn & Kerry Stiman of Marion Son-Jim Ross & Cathy Benton of Chaska, MN Son-John Wade Benton of Marion Grandchildren: Sasha & Shea Greene Kristen & Steven Williams Joshua & Kerry Stiman Mark Aaron & Keri Benton Meredith & Lester LaRoche 10 great grandchildren Brothers: Dan & Carolyn Zoeller Bob & Linda Zoeller Sisters: Jeanette & Ron Bowman Carole & Nick Nicholson Kay & Jack Holderfield She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Adolph “Jr” Zoeller and Bill Zoeller and sisters, Joan Holmes, Shirley Blumenstock and Dorothy McGee Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 2pm at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Brian Summers officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will also be on Saturday from 1pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to First Baptist Church and will be accepted at Blue Funeral Home/ 1704 N. Court St/ Marion, IL 62959.
