Martha Ann Edwards MARION-Martha Ann Edwards, 75, of Marion passed away at 8:30 AM, Monday, December 29, 2008 at her residence surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Bill Rucker officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Mrs. Edwards was born September 30, 1933 in Harrisburg, Illinois to Charles and Helen (Hicks) Gibbons. She married George Edwards on June 27, 1952 in Harrisburg; together they shared 56 years of marriage. Survivors include her husband, George Edwards of Marion; daughters and son-in-law, Debbie Edwards of Spring Hill, Tennessee and Becky and Charles Almaroad of Marion; sons and daughters-in-law, Sam and Rhonda Edwards and Daniel and Trina Edwards all of Marion; grandchildren, Kristy and Greg Barnes, Carrie Almaroad, Jeremy and Megan Allen, Blake and Laura Edwards, Dillon Edwards, Brittney Edwards, Ethan Edwards, Olivia Edwards and Victoria Edwards; great grandchildren, Avery and Addison Barnes adn Jaci Pickles;sisters and brothers-in-law, Louise and Ted Van Deusen and Charline and Jim Murrie; and brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Pat Gibbons. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles “Dale” Gibbons; and sister, Betty Katske. Mrs. Edwards formerly worked at Lowell’s Jewelry Store in Marion. She enjoyed sunrises over the Smokey Mountains and sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico. She loved collecting and trading and music. Most of all she loved her family and she enjoyed every minute she spent with them. She will be greatly missed by all her knew her.
