Mark James Yarcho
GOREVILLE-Mark James Yarcho, 60, of Goreville passed away at 5:35 AM, Monday, July 26, 2010 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Blue Funeral Home in
Goreville. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Military rites will be held at the funeral home with VFW Post 1301, American Legion Post 147 and the National Guard conducting the services. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Southern Illinois; envelopes are available through the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959.
Mark was born June 3, 1950 in Lincoln to Paul and Shirley Yarcho. He married Marilyn (Vierke) Taylor on March 23, 1990; together they shared 20 years of marriage.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Yarcho; daughters and son-in-law, Jaime and Jeff Flack, Jodi Yarcho and Jackie Yarcho; grandchildren, Taylor and Sam Flack, Deacon and Charlize Ashenbremer, Vanessa Taylor and T.K. Taylor; step-sons and wives, Mike and Paula Taylor and Terry and Mandy Taylor; seven siblings, twin sister, Mary Hilscher, Mike Yarcho, Meg and Tom Winters, Matt and Betsy Yarcho, Marty and Robyn Yarcho, John and Peggy Yarcho and Tom Yarcho; and twenty-one nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mark attended Lincoln College, then joining the United States Navy to serve his country honorably during the Vietnam War. He retired as a Post Master form the Middletown Post Office. He was a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 17 years. He lived his life by this prayer: God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Amen.
